AtrimusRx – Specialist Support in Drug Shortages and Named-Patient Medicines

AtrimusRx is a Swedish pharmaceutical supplier focused on mitigating the impact of drug shortages by providing timely access to suitable named-patient medicines. We serve hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, and patients with clinically relevant and regulatory-compliant alternatives when standard treatments become unavailable.

Established in 2016 and based in Sollentuna, just north of Stockholm, AtrimusRx is licensed by the Swedish Medical Products Agency to operate:

A wholesale distribution (WDA) facility
A community pharmacy
Activities involving controlled substances, cytotoxic drugs, biologicals, and ATMPs (Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products)

Our operations follow Good Distribution Practice (GDP), ensuring full traceability, safety, and quality throughout the supply chain. Half of our team consists of licensed pharmacists, enabling us to provide medically sound recommendations supported by regulatory documentation.

Proactive Management of Drug Shortages

Drug shortages demand rapid, evidence-based action. AtrimusRx monitors global supply chains and proactively identifies therapeutic alternatives to medicines facing shortage in Sweden. We support healthcare professionals with two digital tools:

Licensläkemedel – our mobile app for shortage alternatives
Available for both iOS and Android, the app presents real-time alternatives to medicines affected by current or anticipated shortages. All alternatives are pre-reviewed by our pharmacists for regulatory status, availability, and clinical relevance.
Web-based Named-Patient Medicine Database
A secure and searchable platform designed to support healthcare professionals with:
- Real-time stock levels
- Pricing and lead times
- Product images and full SPCs
- All necessary regulatory data for submitting applications and writing justifications to the Swedish Medical Products Agency

Global Network & Exclusive Agreements

Through a trusted global supplier network and exclusive distribution agreements with manufacturers and MAHs, AtrimusRx provides access to a broad range of products – including orphan drugs, clinical trial medicines, and non-commercially available treatments.
